Funeral service for Kate Madelyn Connell, age 102, of Sylacauga will be Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with Rev. Gene Carver and Rev. Larry Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2PM at the funeral home.
Ms. Connell passed away on May 15, 2017 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylacauga for 63 years and taught Sunday School for 30 years and worked many years at Sylacauga News and Curtis and Son Funeral Home. She...

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylacauga for 63 years and taught Sunday School for 30 years and worked many years at Sylacauga News and Curtis and Son Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph R. "Joe" Connell, daughter: Bettye Marilyn Vick, step-son: Moses William Connell, parents: Emmett C. and Estelle Harris, brothers: Emmett Harris and wife Kathleen, Orby T. Harris, sisters: Bess Cater and husband John, Kathryn Thrasher and husband Bascom, Imogene Hammond and husband Grover, daughter-in-law: Darlene Connell and brother-in-law: Don Brannan.
Survivors are her Daughter: Patricia Connell Carver (Gene), Son: Joe David Connell, Sister: Shirley Brannan, Sister-in-law: Margie Harris, 23 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jody Connell, Tony Wayne Connell, Hunter Vick, Glenn Harris, George Hammond and Sanford Brannan.
